As mentioned in the opening minutes of the video my guest, Steven Finkleman is invited onto the podcast to express his views on the current situation of Israel/Palestine. It is a core value of Conversation Cafe that many perspectives be heard. Steven proceeds with the facts as he understands them. It is important to note that after the podcast, Steven sent me a link to a rebuttal to my statement that according to some sources, the IDF targeted children in the head and chest. I then sent him links to raw footage to back up that statement. The context, as Steven points out, of the footage is unknown. My hope is that the viewer engages the content with the critical thinking ability that Steven mentions early on, as necessary to grasp the bigger picture. We both are concluding that we could go back and forth with information and that perhaps the next step is to turn toward possible solutions. As I am neither Jewish nor Palestinian, it is appropriate for me to simply display those solutions. It is up to the Palestinians and the people of Israel to accept and reject where they think appropriate.
